Athens State to Host Bank of America Executive
with Athens Ties

ATHENS, Ala. – Athens State University will be hosting Jay Livingston, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Bank of America, at a lecture on Thursday, March 14th.  The 7:00 p.m. event will be held in the ballroom of the Sandridge Student Center and is offered free to the public through its sponsorship by the Livingston Concert Lecture Series.

Livingston, originally from Knoxville but now residing in New York, has been associated with Bank of America for eighteen years.  He has held senior roles in almost every functional area of marketing including product management, advertising, e:commerce and retail marketing. He has also led the introduction of the Bank of America brand in many markets across the country after large acquisitions. Livingston currently leads Bank of America's efforts to localize many of its nationwide marketing and philanthropic activities.

Livingston will speak on his connection to the Athens area and will give an overview of his background and career path.  He will also touch upon the current financial crisis and the future of banking as well as a discussion on start-up projects he was involved in developing.

“Jay’s topics will be sage advice for our students in the College of Business,” states Rick Mould, Vice President for Advancement.  “In fact, his suggestions for advancing in one’s career should have a broad, interdisciplinary message for all of our students as well as for the community.”

Livingston has many family connections to Athens as he is the great-grandson of Amos and Mamie Christopher.

“I’m excited to come back to Athens, a place where I have a lot of family and spent a lot of time growing up,” states Livingston. “Despite living in the middle of New York City, a small southern town always feels like home.”
