Center for Lifelong Learning Hosting Food Safety Program

ATHENS, Ala. - Athens State University will offer a class for those interested in obtaining a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate.  The class will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, March 5 and 7 at the University’s Center for Lifelong Learning located on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse Square.  Classes for both days are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The cost of $175 includes textbook and exam.

The ServSafe Food Protection program blends the latest FDA food codes, food safety research and years of food sanitation experience.  Students will learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety.

“This is our second time to host this program,” states Center Director Dr. Diane Sauers.  “It was well received the first time and we look forward to building a good class for this session.”

ServSafe is the premier provider of food safety training.  The coursework is designed for employees seeking a Food Handler Card or an operation seeking a compliant solution for your employees.
