Pack Your Appetite For a Culinary Adventure During Limestone County Restaurant Week

Calling all foodies, food lovers, those who don’t want to cook and those who are just hungry – Limestone County Restaurant Week is coming.   As part of the Year of Alabama Foods and the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association’s (ALCTA) Twenty-Twelve: Trails, Tales, and Taters, we would like to invite you to bring your appetite and a sense of adventure  to Athens-Limestone Alabama from August 26th to September 4th for this dining extravaganza.

Cayce Lee, ALCTA organizer for this event says, “This is a grand opportunity for everyone to enjoy a culinary exploration of our community.   We want everyone to bring their appetites and sample everything from bbq to catfish to hot wings to sushi – everything you can find right here in Limestone County Alabama.
The hopes of the ALCTA isn’t only to wet appetites and share the culinary wonders of Limestone County but to hopefully stimulate an industry that is experiencing a downturn during these tough economic times.

“According to the Alabama Bureau of Labor Statistics, Limestone County restaurants collectively employee over 1,500 people. Visiting during Restaurant Week directly supports these employees but it also spreads out to our community indirectly,” continues Miss Lee.  “From the wages of the restaurants-- bills are paid, shopping is done, and entertainment purchased – hopefully all here in Limestone County.  It’s a positive for the whole community.”
