The Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association provides assistance to working press filing stories about Athens-Limestone Alabama as a travel destination. We can answer questions about travel and tourism, arrange press passes attractions, coordinate press visits and point you in the right direction to get the information you need to develop your story about our community.

Calhoun to Conduct Program in Observance of MLK Holiday

Calhoun Community College will pay tribute to slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the college's annual celebration program scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2014.  This year's program, hosted by the college's Black Student Alliance (BSA), will begin at 11 a.m. on Calhoun's Decatur campus in the Aerospace Training Center (ATC).
Featured speaker for this year's program is Ernest Williams, Calhoun Mathematics Department Chair and Instructor and a local minister.  Williams earned his bachelor's degree from Alabama State University and his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
The program will also include special musical performances by the Calhoun Community College Chorale and is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served immediately following the program.
