Calhoun Community College Break Ground on New Huntsville Building

CALHOUN COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO BREAK GROUND ON NEW MATH, SCIENCE & COMPUTER SCIENCE BUILDING IN HUNTSVILLE 


Calhoun Community College and the Alabama State Board of Education will officially break ground on a three-story, approximately 90,000 square foot Math, Science & Computer Science building in Huntsville on Friday, December 5, 2014, 11am at Calhoun’s Huntsville campus,102 Wynn Drive, Huntsville, AL. The $34M facility will be located on the west side of Wynn Drive directly across from Calhoun’s Huntsville/Cummings Research Park campus. Building construction/renovations will begin in early December. 

Ceremony speakers will include: 
Tommy Battle, Mayor of Huntsville 
Arthur Orr, Alabama State Senator
Dr. Mark Heinrich, Chancellor, Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education 
Dr. Charles Elliott, Member, Alabama State Board of Education
Mary Scott Hunter, Member, Alabama State Board of Education

In conjunction with the groundbreaking ceremony, this event will also serve as a farewell to retiring President Dr. Marilyn C. Beck. With over 500 individuals expected to be in attendance, Calhoun is extremely excited about this milestone event.
