Athens State Announces Founders Queen and Court

Athens, ALA. - On Tuesday, October 22, Athens State University Vice President Rick Mould crowned Haley Lewter as this year’s Founders Queen.  Lewter is from Ardmore, and is the daughter of Tim and Diane Lewter.  She transferred to Athens State from Calhoun Community College and is a junior majoring in Secondary English and Language Arts.

Named as members of this year’s Founders Court included Amanda Cates, Lacee Holiday Doucette, Kyleen Kirkland, and Bailey Smith.

“Founders Queen and Court is an historic event that has taken place at Athens State University for over fifty years,” said Director of Student Activities Tena Bullington.  “These honors have been bestowed upon women exemplifying Athens State’s mission and as those chosen are voted upon by their student peers it is truly an honor.”
