Athens, Ala. - The Athens State University Community Band, under the direction of Dan Havely, is gearing up for their annual Christmas Concert. The concert will be held in the Carter Gymnasium on Pryor Street on the northern border of campus.

The concert is scheduled for Sunday, December 9th at 3:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public courtesy of the Livingston Concert Lecture Series with no reservations required.

A reception, hosted by the Athens State Alumni Association and the Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be held following the afternoon performance in the gymnasium.

“The Community Band’s Christmas Concert kicks off the holiday season for so many people,” stated Athens State’s Guy McClure. “We’re pleased to have the Athens-Limestone Hospital joining with the Alumni Association this year to sponsor the post-concert reception in the gymnasium. We\'re looking forward to a great crowd.”
